The client has a disused industrial site, at which there was a requirement to infill several large, concrete lined former machine pits. At an adjacent site, an industrial process was producing a significant quantity of "waste" garnet sands. Advice sought from planning and pollution control meant that the materials could be employed to fill the pits. Spectrum Geo Services designed an Earthworks Specification, and Method Statement, thereby providing significant cost savings, had the client been required to import more expensive materials from further afield.
